Welcome to Rushden Transport Museum & Railway
Rushden Transport Museum is situated in the Old Midland Railway Station of 1894 which once formed part of the Wellingborough to Higham Ferrers branch line.
Taken over by the Rushden Historical Transport Society in 1984 the station also provides the society with a social club.
Today RHTS owns and runs Rushden Transport Museum, & has over 650 members. After many successful years of running the Rushden Historical Transport Society Cavalcade unfortunately the event will no longer take place in the original format. Instead, we are now planning more specialist events throughout the year at the new Goods Shed at Rushden Station.
RHTS has a wide range of rolling stock, and runs selected stock on open days. With over half a mile of track, there is scope for variety.
RHTS has a Gresley Buffet Coach, that provides a range of Hot & Cold Food, on most open days. It is also available for hire for private functions etc.
In addition to the Station buildings, and track, the Society has recently acquired the Goods Shed. This provides a large undercover area, whilst preserving the heritage of the area.
